2026 Achievements
There's always something to celebrate at our school! This year our students have continued to impress us with their achievements across a wonderful range of extra curricular activities.
From sport and performing arts, music, dance, inter-school events and individual pursuits our students have represented themselves and their school community with enthusiasm and pride.
At Albury Public School we are very proud to celebrate every achievement big or small. It's a great opportunity to recognise our student's commitment and encourage them to keep striving for their personal best.
We would love to share with you the dedication and hard work that has gone into these achievements whether it's taking home an award medal, reaching a personal goal or being selected for a representative team or simply having the confidence to get involved and give something new a go.
Our students have achieved outstanding success across a wide range of sports this year. Across 12 different sports, 55 students have earned selection as Riverina representatives, an incredible achievement that reflects their talent, commitments and dedication.
We are also extremely proud to celebrate four students who progressed even further to achieve NSW State representation across 3 different sports.
These results are a fantastic reflection of the strength and diversity of sport within our school community, and we congratulate all of our students on their achievements.

What an incredible achievement for the Albury Public School Girls Basketball Team!
After becoming Riverina Champions, the girls travelled to the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre on Monday 7 September to compete in the NSW PSSA Girls Basketball Knockout State Finals.
The girls produced an outstanding series of performances:
🏀 Quarter Final: Albury Public School 40 defeated Regentville Public School 20
🏀 Semi Final: Albury Public School 78 defeated Cooerwull Public School 10
🏆 Grand Final: Albury Public School 72 defeated Normanhurst West Public School 16
Albury Public School are now the NSW PSSA Girls Basketball Knockout Champions for 2026! 🏆🎉
Congratulations to Ainsley, Alba, Amelia, Clementine, Evie, Frankie, Ivy and Pippa on this incredible achievement. With more than 400 primary school girls basketball teams participating in the NSW PSSA Knockout competition, becoming NSW Champions is an extraordinary accomplishment.
Throughout the day, every player contributed on the court and demonstrated fantastic team spirit, determination and teamwork. The girls continually switched from defensive to attacking mode, using their rebounding, intercepts and quick breaks to turn turnovers into goals. Their ability to work together and support one another was exceptional.
Their behaviour on and off the court was exemplary, representing Albury Public School with pride, respect and sportsmanship throughout the entire competition.
A huge thank you to the parents and carers who travelled to Deniliquin, Tumut and Penrith to support the team and provide the girls with this amazing opportunity. Your encouragement and support have been a huge part of their journey.

Congratulations, Albury Public School Girls Basketball Team — NSW Champions 2026!
Lenny and Hudson competed in the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships.
Lenny finished his u10s individual 2km race in 11th position and Hudson finished his u12s individual 3km race in 8th position.
NSW won a team gold medal, calculated on the individual placings of all representatives, in both age groups and NSW also won gold in the relay events for both the u10s and u12s.
The racing was fun, but the highlight was the friendships that were made. Congratulations Lenny and Hudson what a fantastic achievement!
Congratulations to Hunter Dicketts on a fantastic effort at the NSW State Golf Championship!
After travelling to Tamworth for the championships, Hunter had a great experience both on and off the course.
Day 1 – Team Event: Hunter displayed fantastic leadership skills and team spirit, supporting his teammates and giving his best for the team.
Day 2: 88 off the stick
Day 3: 85 off the stick
Hunter finished 16th overall in the Stroke Event and an impressive Tied 4th in the Net Event, finishing with a net score of 5 under!
Throughout the championships, Hunter showed great sportsmanship, determination and a positive attitude, making us incredibly proud.

Congratulations to Harriet Bennet and Ivy Lindsay who represented as part of the Riverina team at the State Netball Championships.
Ivy has also received a Riverina sportsmanship medal for NSW PSSA Netball.
Congratulations girls what a wonderful effort!

We would like to congratulate Lucinda Arentz on her incredible achievement, making it all the way to the Regional Final for the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition. This is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful reflection of her hard work and dedication. We are incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished, especially as there were 22000 Stage 2 participants and only 10 finalists, one of whom was Lulu.
“When writing my speech, I chose someone I knew from sport who I looked up to. I used their experiences to help me write my speech, ‘Racism – No Way!’
I was nervous because everyone around me had really good speeches, but I took some deep breaths, stayed calm and tried my best.
The Regional Final was very different because I had to present my speech online. I had never given a speech on a computer before! I wasn’t the only person presenting online though. There was another girl who was in Greece, and she gave an amazing speech too.
Our impromptu topic was ‘Pay Attention’. I wrote about what can happen when you do and don’t pay attention at school.
Overall, it was an interesting experience, I had lots of fun and I am proud that I gave it my best!”
