ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools)
Each year Albury Public School offers students in years 2 to 6 the opportunity to participate in International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS).
ICAS is an optional academic extension activity, consisting of examinations in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling and Digital Technologies that challenge students to extend classroom learning into new contexts, using higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills.
Over one million students in Australia and New Zealand undertake ICAS each year, together with their peers in over 20 countries including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the USA. Students sit the assessments at the school under normal examination conditions.
Every participating student receives a certificate and a detailed online report. Students who achieve higher results receive credit, distinction and high distinction certificates, as well as being eligible for medals from the University of NSW.
