Whooping cough information

Cases of whooping cough (Pertussis) have been reported in the school. Whooping cough usually begins like a cold with a blocked or runny nose, tiredness, mild fever and a cough. The disease is highly contagious to people who have not been immunised. For those who have been immunised, the protection fades over time and regular boosters are required. Students with Whooping cough should be excluded from school for up to five days after the antibiotic treatment has started.
